Use Twistfix remedial wall ties for rapid wall tie replacement and reliable brick pinning installation. Our stainless-steel helical ties are the choice of professionals for tying existing walls. The setting tool, which is available to buy separately, holds and hammer-drives the replacement ties.

The Thor Helical CD Ties have a diameter of 9 mm. They screw into brick, masonry or concrete when hammered into pilot holes using the impact action of a hammer drill. The remedial tie grips within undercut helical grooves without exerting expansive stress on the brickwork. The unique driving design of the replacement tie delivers a fast, easy and reliable remedy for cavity wall tie failure.

What length wall ties should I buy?

 Cavity Width.  Wall Tie Length.
    0 - 25 mm.  180 mm.
   25 - 45 mm.  205 mm.
   50 - 70 mm.  230 mm.
   75 - 95 mm.  255 mm.
 100 - 120 mm.  280 mm.
 125 - 145 mm.  305 mm.
 150 - 170 mm.  330 mm.
 175 - 200 mm.  355 mm.

The above tie-length guidance is for cavity walls with 110mm bricks. Make adjustments for walls with 100 mm metric bricks.

Select the length of tie you require from the 'Drop Down' menu. To fix our remedial wall ties, you need to buy the following.

  • A Remedial Wall Tie Setting Tool. The tool spins around the end of the tie and delivers hammer blows to it.
  • A 6 mm x 360 mm SDS drill bit for 180 to 280 mm ties or a 6 x 450 mm bit for 305 to 355 mm wall ties. Use a 7 mm drill bit for tying into engineering bricks or structural-grade concrete. Use a 5 mm pilot hole for perforated brickwork. Ensure the pilot hole is 10 mm longer than the tie so that it can be recessed.

Helical wall ties are suitable for use in all wall types. Our 9 mm remedial wall ties have UKCA and CE Mark Approval. They comply with BS EN 845-1: 2013 in various masonry materials. The ties are in bags of 50.
