These cavity wall ties are in a remedial kit. The kit is suitable for tying 60 square metres of existing brickwork.
First, drill a pilot hole into the masonry walls. Ensure the bore depth is 10 mm longer than the tie. Then put the setting device into an SDS tool and the tie's shank into the tool. Now, drive the helix into the pilot hole using the impact action of an SDS hammer drill. The tool spins around the end of the tie and delivers hammer blows to it. Continue driving the cavity tie until it countersinks beneath the surface of the brick.
The helical wall tie has a bigger diameter than the pilot hole. This causes the tie to rotate as it hammers in. The advancing and rotating helix undercuts a helical screw thread in the masonry. The screw connection ties together the walls on each side of the cavity.
Insertion of the cavity wall tie replacement system is quick and easy.
Twistfix cavity wall ties are suitable for remedial use in all masonry types. The setting tool enables safe two-handed drill operation throughout the entire installation process. This supreme cavity wall tie system complies with EN845-1 for UKCA and CE marking.
Select the wall tie length from the table below.
