Damp proofing and waterproofing products delayed by London 2012?
Supplies of damp proofing and waterproofing products to London builders are likely to be disrupted due to increased road traffic congestion during the course of the Olympic Games. Whilst delays and traffic jams are expected across London other sporting cities such as Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle should remain largely unaffected.
London 2012 runs from July 27 until the final day of the Paralympics on September 9 and deliveries of building products in the capital city are likely to take day or two extra to arrive. Worst affected will be roads in the London post code areas of E, EC, N, NW, SE, SW, W and WC, covering around two million homes and businesses.
Many carriers will be raising delivery prices during the six-week Olympic event to finance the logistical challenges of delivering within the Greater London region. These price increases being despite longer delivery times and a potential suspension of tracking services. Twistfix are committed to absorbing these extra costs and will not be expecting builders and ordinary Londoners to pick up the bill.
Twistfix is encouraging its registered contractor network, general builders and DIY customers to plan ahead and order early to buy supplies of damp proofing cream, basement waterproofing products and crack repair materials. Planning and patience seem to be the key watchwords in ensuring London keeps on building and renovating over the Olympic Games period.
